साधु ऐसा चाहिए, जैसा सूप सुभाय,
सार-सार को गहि रहै, थोथा देई उड़ाय।

Saint Kabir uttered this rhyme several decades ago, according to which an intellectual is one who picks the central idea and understands the crux of sensitive issues and throws away worthless chatter. The reason I recalled this rhyme because recently two intellectuals encountered and did the intense brainstorming on Indic Renaissance. The best-seller author & film maker Mr. Vivek Agnihotri and social entrepreneur, Indic thought leader Mr. Hari Kiran Vadlamani met in Hyderabad and conversed on Indic Renaissance and best seller title #UrbanNaxals. Mr. Hari Kiran talked on the disruptive means of marketing and thereby inspired Mr. Vivek to write a book on his experiences. Mr. Vive probed Mr. Hari Kiran that what does he mean by Indic thought process or ideology. Mr. Hari Kiran responded that Indic ideology means a person believes that he is a product of civilization. First definition is that the blend of traditional and modern ideologies may represent the Indic thought process. Second definition represents the combination between science & humanity and the third dimension talks about east & west.

Mr. Hari Kiran here told that in most of the US universities the section of Indian philosophy is not a separate department but a part of south east ideologies. Mr. Vivek talked on the Renaissance based on India creativity, Indian art etc and then he probed back to Mr. Hari Kiran that what is the Renaissance he was talking about. Mr. Hari Kiran responded that according to him, Indic Renaissance is based on intellectual, cultural & spiritual grounds.
