Devdutt Pattanaik is a Doctor by education and an Author by profession. He claims himself to be a Mythologist and has also pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Comparative Mythology.

Some of his famous books are: Myth = Mithya: A Handbook of Hindu Mythology; Jaya: An Illustrated Retelling of the Mahabharata; Sita: An Illustrated Retelling of the Ramayana; Shikhandi: And Other Tales They Don’t Tell You; Shiva to Shankara: Giving Form to the Formless. His works, usually based on Hindu scriptures, mostly portray the travesty of Hindu philosophy.

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri retweeted a thread posted by Abhinav Agrawal on social media in which he exposed the shoddy and littered work of Devdutt Pattanaik. Vivek’s tweet read “Another brilliantly researched argument by Abhinav Agarwal. Abhinav’s research on books can be trusted without any question” Abhinav explains the difference between the theories mentioned in Original Hindu Mythologies and the misinterpreted and manipulated work of Devdutt Pattanaik. Explaining each episode in detail, he gives a fact check with authenticated illustrations. Have a look at the tweet thread of FACTS.

If the Great Hindu Mythologies are at the sake of such claimed Mythologists, then the next-gen will really have a hard time in discovering the roots of Hindu Civilization. So where are your beliefs rooted to: MYTHOLOGY or MITHYA-LOGY?
