Vivek Agnihotri appeals on social media saying, “Dear friends, an appeal to all those who want to know the truth of Shastriji’s death. An appeal to those who want to see #TheTashkentFiles but your theatre is not running it. If you want the film to be shown in your city/ area/ theatre, read this. Please share. #TheRightToTruth”
With extremely limited release on 250 screens Vivek Agnihotri’s “The Tashkent Files” is bringing a political awakening. With the release of Karan Johar’s big-budget film “Kalank”, the screens reduced to 120, with odd-timings. The screening of shows at almost houseful capacity and increasing demand of viewers to watch this film, urged the film maker to write an appeal to the viewers.
In his appeal, he requested the viewers to take leadership and volunteer to contribute their #RightToTruth. He insisted on framing large groups and request the multiplex manager to show the film, as they won’t disappoint their eager viewers. This innovative and disruptive idea would empower the viewers to see what they want to see and not what is being thrusted upon them by big-marketing and hype distribution muscle.
“Because ‘Kalank’ booked all screens and we can’t match their muscle power. Like Bachchan Saab said once – वो राजा हैं हम रंक। Remember, Shastriji was a small and simple leader but with time and people’s love turned out to be very strong.” Vivek Agnihotri answers a fan on social media, when questioned about limited release of such a commendable film.
“If you love India, our democracy and your right to truth, watch ‘The Tashkent Files’ today and learn ‘Who Killed Shastri?’ This is your movie. It’s a movement. Insist to PVR Cinemas, INOX Movies and your local theatres to show it.” Agnihotri insisted the viewers on requesting the multiplex nearby, to show “The Tashkent Files”
Volunteer and join the Political Awakening with #TheRightToTruth movement. Watch the film and learn ‘Who killed Shastri?’ Book tickets now and give “The Gift of Truth” to your loved ones. Take leadership, form groups and insist on watching “The Tashkent Files” in theaters near you.
