Paris–Brest–Paris (PBP) is a long-distance Global Cycling event with a 1,200 km bicycle race from Paris to Brest and back to Paris. It is the oldest cycling event of France since 1891. Recent event was held on 18-22 August 2019.

Priyadarshani Pawar, daughter of Indian Navy officer, wife of the Coast Guard and now a member of Indian Air Force, reached the finishing line,  with the arrival of Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi to  France, in order to attend the G7 summit.

The spokesperson of Indian Navy congratulated Priyadarshani by addressing her fantabulous victory in a chain of tweets on social media. His tweets read: “Huge Congratulations to Priyadarshani Pawar, an #IndianNavy daughter, @IndiaCoastGuard spouse & now a part of @airindiain family on successful completion of the prestigious & grueling 1200km non-stop #ParisBrestParis Randonneur cycling event 18-22 Aug.”

He added: “A remarkable feat indeed in unfamiliar terrain and weather, she completed in her very first attempt. Incidentally the race culminated with the visit of Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi @PMOIndia to France.”

“Understandably this is the 1st time since the event started in 1891, that any Indian woman has successfully completed the same. Coming on the heels of the highly successful #NavikaSagarParikrama, a befitting tribute to women power by a #NavyChildrenSchool alumnus.” He concluded.

Salute to the daughter of India, for her stupendous victory in foreign land! Wishing her more victories in the future.
