In order to strengthen the regulatory and supervisory mechanisms, the central banks all over the world, formulate a medium term plan and a long-term plan. The Reserved Bank of India (RBI) has finalized a medium term plan to improve supervision and regulation among the functions of central bank.
The “Three year Roadmap” of the RBI is in-line with the Global standards of the central bank’s plan, to strengthen the regulatory and supervisory mechanisms.
The RBI board finalized the three year medium-term strategy document which covered inter-alia, its mission and vision statement, at a meet-up in New Delhi. Discussing the issues related to currency management and payment systems; the board approved the RBI’s budget for July 2019-June 2020 period
Viral Acharya, the outgoing Deputy Governor of RBI is in-charge of the Internal Committee. This committee will identify issues, address vital areas and act proactively to avoid crisis, in the next three years.
